Visitors Guide

In our institution, you are the most important, but please assist our work by complying with a few rules in order to protect our artwork and avoid accidents.

  • Please only approach artworks at a maximum 30 cm distance. It is forbidden to touch artworks or their captions, unless the object on display is markedly intended for the purpose of touching.
  • Cloakroom service is mandatory but free of charge. Please leave your luggage, backpack, any size of bag worn on the back, and umbrella in the cloakroom.
  • Food and beverage-free zone. Please do not bring any food or beverages into the galleries.
  • Please do not disturb other visitors in the galleries by speaking loudly. Turn down the volume of your mobile phone and do not use it to talk.
  • Smoking is prohibited throughout the Kunsthalle. The use of electronic cigarettes is also not allowed.
  • The group leader, teacher-chaperone, or parent (as well as an external tour guide with special permission on an individual basis) is responsible for ensuring that all members of their group comply with the regulations of the Visitor Guide.
  • Please pay attention to your minor child. Children under the age of two may only be brought into the galleries if held or guided by the parent, or in a stroller or a carrier attached to the front of the adult. Due to the risk of damage to the artworks, no alternative option is permitted (e.g., carriers attached to the back of the adult or carrying in the neck).
  • It is forbidden to bring live animals into the galleries.
  • Please ask our staff for assistance with using the elevator or finding your way around.
  • The closing of the exhibitions starts at 5:45 p.m. (7:45 p.m. on Thursdays) in Room XI and continues from there towards the entrance. Please leave the given area at the request of the closing staff and visit the cloakroom no later than 5:50 p.m. (7:50 p.m. on Thursdays), if needed. Please vacate the building by 6:00 p.m. (8:00 p.m. on Thursdays).
