Glass-Work - Exhibition of Ágnes Kertészfi

Ágnes Kertészfi is a leading personality of the Hungarian contemporary art of glass. Her architecture-related works, which were made mostly in Pécs, combine the demand of secession and the attitude of the contemporary applied art (the french windows of Bástya street in 1986, glass ornaments of the interior of OTP in 1987, the glass cupola of the Foreign Trade Bank in 1993, the stained-glass windows of the Catholic church at Rácváros in 1997, etc.). She has made experimental works of arts too, which is on the border of the glass of art and the small sculpture. Ágnes Kertészfi is a regular participant of the Hungarian and the international symposiums and exhibitions of small sculptures and glass of art (New York 1983, London 1984, Budapest 1995).

She won several prizes (Award of Triennial of Silicate at Kecskemét in 1985, Award of the Lectorate of Fine and Applied Arts at Tihany in 1990, Noémi Ferenczy Prize in 1993). This is the first solo exhibition in Budapest of the fifty years old artist.
