Commemorative exhibition of Zsigmond Gaál

Among the paintings which are part of his various repertoire and influenced by Szentendre, the pictures of town- and village streets have a favourable place. Narrow baroque streets, bulbiform cupolas, facades of halls, windows with shades appear on the colourful and decorative canvases of Zsigmond Gaál. The intensive, homogeneous colours, the wavering line-tracing give a strange, dreamy mood to the pictures, as well as we can see on the portraits of imaginary figures and characters painted by an artist. This is the first time that his works of art are exhibited alone in the Dorottya Gallery.
