Exhibition of Rózsa Polgár

curated by Krisztina Jerger Rózsa Polgár is an outstanding representative of that generation of female artists who started working in the seventies, and for whom textile proved to be the most pliable means of artistic expression. Textile artists constitute a very important and characteristic segment in Hungarian art. Weaving is probably the most labour-intensive mode of creating a picture, often month elapse between the idea and the completion. The result is special because the image the yarns and occasional accessories produce is picturesque and plastic at the same time. This exhibition offers an opportunity for the public to see an important oeuvre, latest works included, in this particular field.
