Margit Szilvitzky: Paintings

Curated by Ildikó D. Udvary Margit Szilvitzky is known to the public as a representative of the experimental textile artists of the seventies. Nevertheless, her interest over the last fifteen years has turned towards painting. All through her artistic career she has sought to create a synthesis of artistic forms and expressions that bridge different visual mediums. In the words of one admirer "her career epitomizes all the intellectual and mental changes and shifts that from modernism led to postmodernism, which she lived through within her own personality". This exhibition presents the latest work and paintings of Margit Szilvitzky made in the nineties from her organic period.
