Memorial exhibition of Miklós Erdély

Curated by László Beke, Miklós Peternák, Annamária Szoke Organized by Andrea Regos and Judit Angel Opened by Jan Hoet, ex-commissar of the Kassel documenta Miklós Erdély (1928-1986) was one of the most important figures within postwar Hungarian avant-garde art. In spite of this the public has only a limited knowledge of his activity. As such, this large exhibition covering the entire Mucsarnok, is intended to both educate and present the artist´s entire career including his role as teacher and respond to the versatile influences of his personality. The exhibition involves not only pieces and films to be found in his estate and private or public collections but with the contribution of his former colleagues and students it also aspires to reconstruct certain installations made by him. The exhibition is going to be accompanied by an extensive catalogue, a series of film screenings and a symposion covering his entire lifework.
