Official Programme of the 25th Budapest Spring Festival

Faithful son of the city of steel-dust, moulder of the Madonnas of Sztálinváros "Stalin City", it was the original name of Dunaújváros until 1961), the eternally restless, rambunctious and energetic Rezső Móder turns 50 this year. The exhibition of the Munkácsy-award winning artist is arranged as a programme of the 25th Budapest Spring Festival, in which the mobile-sculptor - painter - graphic artist - performer - metal-composer - multimedia-artist - poet selects from his older and newer compositions of "5-dimensional art". The vernissage of the exhibition presenting steel-sculpture-instruments, paintings and object-poems, in accordance with the character of the show, will comprise a concert-performance-series of genuine festival atmosphere, in which the contemporary musical compositions written for metal sculptures by Rezső Móder, as well as free improvisation, will be heard. First at Deák tér, then in Vörösmarty tér, the invited artists will play the installed steel-sculptures, and finally in the Dorottya Galériában will be the exhibition opening and subsequent celebration.

Opening speech by Csaba Kozák, art critic

The 4th volume in the series of Dorottya books, the monograph on Rezső Móder's life oeuvre, is published to accompany the exhibition.
This volume is launched on 20 April at 4 p.m. in the Írók Boltja (Writers' Bookshop) by art historians Gábor Pataki, Ernő P. Szabó and composer Bánk Sáry.
