1 day 1 photo

Opening: July 3, 2008 The photo blog that can be found at 1day1photo.com is a photo journal co-authored by three female photographers in their thirties, who live in cultures divided by great distances.

Each of the artists, Judit Katalin Elek (Budapest), Enikő Hangay (New York) and Lei Ben Ben (Beijing), has agreed to contribute a photo a day, uploading at least one picture she made the same day.

Owning a history of less than a decade, the photo blog is a new, innovative genre, which reviews and partially transforms the rules of classic photography. Its importance is comparable to the widespread availability of small-format cameras that began in the first half of the 20th century.

The exhibition, which is divided between Liget Gallery and Menü Pont, features more than 100 photos and interactive slideshows to reveal the interplay between the approximately 1500 photos that have been made since December 2006. The pictures that are made while the show is open are also incorporated in the exhibit.
