CREATING OUR FUTURE

Composers of different historic eras traditionally used acoustic instruments to reflect the sounds of the surrounding world. Modern composers approach sounds and tonality rather as separate entities. The "terminus technicus" accepted in the first part of the twentieth century, that only symmetric vibrations can be considered musical notes, was set aside and irregular vibrations, noises have invaded the compositions. Today, thanks to the more and more effective computers, the long-time dream of composers to completely control sounds and create tones and "new instruments" by themselves, seems to be achievable.

The main purpose of Music Forum Expo is to introduce a very interesting and exciting musical field: electro-acoustic and computer music by presenting concerts, scientific presentations and informative exhibitions.

MUSIC IN THE GLOBAL VILLAGE -
Netbased collaboration in computermusics Utopia
www.globalvillagemusic.net

International conference with speakers, musicians and concerts.

Music in the Global Village researches technological and artistic domains that are made available in the interaction of humans and machines in networked systems. To this end, in 2005 the initiators GeorgHAJDU (Hamburg, Germany) and Andrea SZIGETVÁRI (Dunakeszi, Hungary) founded the EBE (European Bridges Ensemble) together, a platform for musical internet- and network-performances.

In September 2007 Music in the Global Village stages a international conference on real-time performance at Műcsarnok Budapest. The conference will be accompanied by a series of concerts where four individual commissioned pieces for networked systems will see their world premiere.
